This amazing birdwatching tour visits three
unique habitats: San Pancho, Sayulita, and the
very special Sierra del Vallejo Biosphere
Reserve. On this excursion we will watch
for birds in dry forest, tropical forest and
tidal wetlands all in one morning! Sierra
del Viejo is located inland from the area north
of Puerto Vallarta known as Nuevo Vallarta.
Birds flock to the brackish water created by the
Pacific Ocean and Ameca River.
We will watch for such species as the
Black-Bellied Tree Duck, Great Blue Heron,
Roseate Spoonbill, and various species of ducks,
herons, gulls, pelicans and parrots. Our
birding adventures continue as we make our way
to Sayulita and San Pancho, with an estuary
overflowing with bird life, really a great
destination. We will first visit the
tropical rainforest and enjoy a light breakfast
among sightings of Hummingbirds, Parakeets,
Kiskadees, Flycatchers, Woodpeckers, and more.
In the course of this spectacular day of
birdwatching, we may sight over 40 unique
species in a day!|
